Job Description
Our GPT (Garlock Pipeline Technologies) team is currently looking for a Materials/Inventory Coordinator to join us out of our northwest Houston location. As a Materials/Inventory Coordinator, you will be responsible for inventory management, the maintenance of bill of materials and routings, and any scheduling related tasks.

Responsibilities of the Materials/Inventory Coordinator:

  • Verifies physical count of inventory and stock and adjusts errors in or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies
  • Responsible for managing the cycle count process in assigned areas and for initiating corrective action to prevent future errors
  • Prepares and creates jobs for production, including detailed instructions, drawings, bills of material, references, inspection requirements, etc. to initiate and control production work
  • Ensures part numbers are created correctly and perform regular maintenance of the part catalogs for all items ensuring data is relevant and current
  • Support production with the development of standardized bills and routings for new and existing products
  • Analyze and coordinate design changes to ensure that the manufacturing floor, engineering, and all other relevant parties are fully coordinated with the timing and details of the changes


Required Qualifications of the Materials/Inventory Coordinator:
  • Completed high school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of inventory management experience working in a production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds
  • Proficient with computers, specifically Microsoft Office programs (ie. Excel) and an ERP system (ie. Oracle)


Preferred Qualifications of the Materials/Inventory Coordinator:
  • Completed associate's degree
  • Ability to read and analyze technical drawings, shop orders, routers, and production schedules
  • Experience ordering materials, such as machine components and molded rubber or plastics
