Job Description
Fairbanks Morse, an EnPro Industries company, is looking for a Training Instructor to join our team. This instructor will educate Customers, FM Field Service Personnel, Channel Partners, and other FM employees on the maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting of FME product and associated system components. In addition, the instructor will be required to maintain, update, and enhance current curriculum on an annual basis, and to support the development of new curriculum, training aids, and methods of instruction.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Instruct groups of 6-12 people with a wide range of experience and aptitude on FM product lines (1 and 2 week courses)
  • Develop and maintain training curriculum on all relevant engine lines
  • Assist with the development of new curriculum, training methods, and the use of new technology
  • Maintain a safe working environment and uphold FM safe working requirements
  • Assist with the scheduling, promotion and sale of FM Training to both external and internal customers
  • Create and maintain training aids on engine line products
  • Perform routine administrative tasks to support training

Qualifications and Educational Requirements
  • Minimum of two years of college or work experience in the instructional field
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with the maintenance and repair of reciprocating engines
  • Preferred experience with at least one of FM's product lines (OP, ALCO, Pielstick or MAN)
  • Solid knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic/pneumatic systems
  • High degree of competency with Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, & Power Point)
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal skills, and presentation skills
  • Learning mindset - willingness and ability to learn and develop new ideas
  • Travel is required; both domestic and international. Travel to customer sites to conduct training as well as attending professional classes to expand skills and to learn licensed engine line information. This travel can be up to 25% in a year depending on demands
  • This position requires access or potential access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information, which is Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (NOFORN) data. Therefore, to meet NOFORN requirement, you will have to provide proof of US Citizenship and attest that you do not have dual citizenship. Acceptable proof of US Citizenship is a US Passport, US Birth Certificate or Naturalization Certificate.
