CAD Technician is responsible for providing documentation support, generally for Engineers. Provides detailed drawings from an engineer's sketches, requirements, from customer prints and/or print files. In addition, under the direction of the engineer, the CAD Technician may perform design functions for a designated product line(s). Responsible for maintenance of controlled engineering documentation for specific product line(s), and may be responsible for the management of controlled documentation for others within the organization.
--Prepare detailed product, tooling and/or manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks software from an engineer's sketches, requirements and calculations and/or customers prints, print files or sample parts via a Document Change Notice (DCN).
--Perform actual design work for specific product lines under the general direction of a Product Engineer supervisor.
--Optionally, and as occasion allows, work with product, process or quality engineering, manufacturing, and/or tool & die to get products ready for production and commercialization.
--Maintain engineering documentation (DCN's, CAD drawing files, print files, part number history files, etc.) for specific product line(s) and make sure all product engineering documentation is maintained to QS-9000 standards.
--Assists with BOM and router creation within ERP system
--Occasional project work for general department initiatives as directed by Engineering Services Supervisor or Manager.
--High school graduate required. Associates degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in engineering technology or closely related field preferred
--Previous experience with, and demonstrated proficiency in design drafting
-- Proficient in Windows applications, minimum word processing and spreadsheets
--Proficient in CAD, SolidWorks preferred
--Communicates effectively (written and verbal)
--Thorough knowledge of ANSI drafting standards
--Efficient and well organized; and capable of completing assigned responsibilities with minimum supervision
