GENERAL NATURE OF JOB :
Develop and maintain a world-class manufacturing operation that encompasses EnPro's Dual Bottom Line vision by placing equal emphasis on human development and financial performance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Leads manufacturing teams through the preparation and implementation of operating plans and strategies consistent with our core values of Safety, Excellence, and Respect. Utilize the One Global Garlock methodologies including open flow of information, cooperative problem solving, and data-driven decisions. Develops a strategic vision for the manufacturing operations consistent with the Garlock and Expansion Joints commercial goals and strategy. Facilitates priorities of available resources. Responsible for Key Performance Indicators for manufacturing operations. Monitors results and reasons for performance levels, creates action plans to correct and achieve goals. Leads team-based improvements in manufacturing methods, layouts, equipment and techniques. Sustains a continuous improvement program through the unit. Develop, evaluate, improve, and document new or existing manufacturing processes, materials and/or equipment using sound engineering practices that are data driven and fact based. Utilize scientific problem solving methods that test and validate process improvements. Develops and maintains an effective organization through selection, training, compensation and motivation of all personnel. Develops talents necessary to obtain short and long range goals by effective direction, counseling and training. Develops organization's structures and staffing requirements. Manages administration of labor contracts, seeks assistance of Human Resources Department in resolving difficult contract interpretations and guidance. Determines plant policies consistent with division and corporate policies, and directs and supervises the application of such policies to the unit's manufacturing operations. Directs the preparation of budgets and provides regular and special expense and cost control reports for improvement, re-equipment and expansion of the unit. Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations issued by OSHA, EPA and federal, state and local regulatory agencies. Ensure that all products are manufactured according to written product quality standards and specifications. Directs maintenance or physical condition of departmental surroundings, either through a systematic program of repairs, or through initiation of fixed capital requests when this action appears economic or appropriate. JOB SPECIFICATIONS : Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or equivalent preferred. Other educational background with relevant experience. Minimum 4 -8 years broad engineering, manufacturing, or leadership experience Supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment or related operation Strong ability to collaborate, listen and implement ideas of all manufacturing employees. Strong ability to prioritize multiple projects. Strong written and oral communication skills. WORKING CONDITIONS : Restricted area, manufacturing floor (protective clothing, safety glasses, safety shoes) & office environment.

Office and Manufacturing Floor Position: Ability to perform sedentary work, spending extended periods of time working with a computer. Clarity of vision to see near and mid-range. Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
